  • But im not here to feel better about myself by thinking im better than those in the south, sitting in my house in the liberal NE. 1) I don't live in the northeast. 2) I don't think people there should think that because of this study.

  • Keep harping on those jobs stats. Doesn't negate the fact that it has greater downward economic mobility than the rest of the nation. Or that its citizens are less educated on average. Or that its GDP per capita is lower than the average for the northeast.

  • No, i accept the study. If you accept the study and its findings that economic mobility is greater in the northeast than in the South, then why is it propaganda to report on it. Should news outlets not report on solid studies if they have political implications?

  • Not anymore, especially not in an election year. OK whatever the reason MSNBC wrote a story about this study, that doesn't change the findings of the study. So do you think the study is bogus? Or do you accept that the South has lower economic mobility than the northeast?
